Victoria Shopping

Spend a relaxing day casually exploring Victoria's unique shops in historic alleyways, going through character neighbourhoods and ambling along safe, pedestrian friendly downtown streets. Just as Victoria's European heritage will provide a fascinating backdrop for your wandering, the uniqueness of the merchandise you find will provide you with great memories of British Columbia and this exceptional region of Southern Vancouver Island.

Historic Shopping Neighbourhoods

Antique Row
Well known for the many antique and collectible stores lining several blocks of Fort Street from Blanshard to Cook Streets.

Bastion Square
The heart of Victoria's historic beginning, the original Fort Victoria. The open square houses the Maritime Museum, restaurants and shops as well as an outdoor artisan market.

Chinatown
Celebrated as the oldest in Chinese community Canada. Once home to opium dens and gambling halls, Chinatown now mixes contemporary stores and live-work condos with traditional Asian markets and diners. Many of Victoria's contemporary home decor and furnishings stores are found in this neighbourhood.

Lower Johnson Street
Also known as Olde Towne or, more recently, as LoJo. Colourful heritage buildings distinguish this downtown Victoria neighbourhood. Trendy and new blends with traditional and old as alternative clothing stores line this two-block area of lower Johnson Street. Market Square anchors Olde Town with over 40 stores and restaurants to choose from.

Trounce Alley
European fashions, a Tapas Restaurant and boutique gift shops can be found along this narrow alley between Government and Broad Street.
